9 Fabulous Websites to Help You With Your German

Here is a list of some german learning websites that are great and are truly fantastic. Hope you enjoy.

1. Reverso Conjugation

This website is truly amazing. If you are ever unfamiliar on how to conjugate a verb, this is the site to go. It may be a bit overwhelming since it shows all the tenses, but the website is cut and dry and shows you what you need.

2. German is easy!

German is easy is a great website to learn new vocabulary and understand grammar. On the website, you will find doodles, audio excerpts, in-depth explanations, and dry humor. It's a must to check out.

3. DeepL Translator/Google Translate

I can't imagine trying to learn a language without a translator. God bless the internet. We've all heard of Google Translate, but have you heard of DeepL? DeepL gives more precise translations than Google Translate, but it doesn't have audio. It's best to use both at the same time. Get your translation from DeepL then put it into Google Translate to see how it sounds.

4. Linguee

Linguee is one bomb online dictionary. It works like any regular dictionary, but it also has audio and example sentences. It's also run by the same people as DeepL!

5. Anki/Quizlet

These are two fantastic sites if you are learning vocabulary through flashcards. Anki isn't completely online and if you want to use shared decks you need to install the program.

(I will be making a blog post of the pros and cons of each site)

6. Forvo

Forvo is a site where you can hear a native speaker say a certain word. This is a great site if you are making Anki Cards, or if you don't trust the audio that Google Translate or another site gives you.

7. Märchen in Leichter Sprache

Märchen in Leichter Sprache has a bunch of easy-to-read fairytales in german. There is an audio excerpt for each story and has a few drawings as well.

8. The German Language Project

The German Language Project has both grammar and stories. For the grammar lessons, you follow Jens and some unfortunate events in his life. There are audio excerpts, basic grammar rules, and doodles. You will definitely get a laugh from it.

9. Forums

Do you still have unanswered grammar questions? Forums are an absolute must to use. You can see if your question has already been asked and answered by someone else, and if not you can make your own post. The replies are usually quick and take less than 12 hours. Some forums are:

- HiNative

- The Duolingo Forum

- r/ German on Reddit

I hope you enjoyed this list. If I find some more fantastic websites this post will be updated. Thank you so much for reading, till next time :)
